In Battlefield 3, learning to work with the BF3 weapons available in each class can be one of the aspects that will bring you the most points in the game. The importance of weapons is recognized in most shooter games; however, very few of them have a level of complexity and difficulty that even gets close to BF3.
Depending on the type of class you have chosen, the nature of the mission you are trying, as well as your particular style and skill level in dealing with various types of weaponry, you will have to select your guns very carefully, if you want to maximize the efficiency of your troupes.
Let us there look at the main types of BF3 weapons available in each class and how they can fit in perfectly with your strategies.
– The Assault Class – This is one of the classes where you will be focusing less on using a wide variety of weapons and more on using your health pack to gain points. Of course, you can choose to play the class any way you want; the only important weapons you will need are assault rifles, such as the M16 or the AK74-M.
Your choice may also include various global weapons as well, which can be used in any of the four classes. With time, you will be able to unlock more powerful rifles as well such as the AN96, a deadly long range weapon.
– The Recon Class – Using specific BF3 weapons available in each class can be slightly challenging when it comes to this class. The choice is delicious especially since the Recon class requires excellent long range accuracy.
At first, the selection range is somewhat limited, as there are few sniper rifles available from the start. With time, however, you will be able to unlock top class guns, such as the MK11, which has one of the best ranges of all the weapons in the game.
– The Engineer Class – Some would say “this is where the fun begins”. The Engineer class works with some of the most complex and powerful weapons of all. Selecting BF3 weapons available in each class will seem like a difficult task when you reach this class, but soon you will start to enjoy it quite considerably, especially if you like powerful machine guns and grenade launchers.
An interesting choice here is the multipurpose SMAW, a shoulder-launch weapon that can be useful both against troupes and vehicles.
– The Support Class – The strategies employed by the Support class mostly involve assisting your teams by suppressing fire. For this purpose, the best choice is a powerful yet easy to maneuver lightweight machine gun. One of the most appropriate weapons in this case is the RPK-74M, which is incredibly powerful but also light.
You can easily use it both for medium range shooting and for working your way into tight spaces.
While you can always respect some of the mainstream ideas regarding the use of BF3 weapons available in each class, you will also often feel the need to improve, which is perfectly all right, as long as you apply your knowledge regarding the classes and choose the best weapons for your missions.
