When I was a boy, which I have to admit was a long time ago, we used to play outside – in the street, at the park, in the woods, and so on. There were no computer games then – well, there were not really any computers – so we did not have the digital distractions that today's kids have. Nowadays, children are introduced to electronic games from a very early age, and by the age of seven can be pretty good with a computer or games console.

Although we all get frustrated with our children from time to time because we can not get them to go outside and play, I guess we would have been exactly the same if we had been given the playtime choices that today's children have. Would you rather go outside in the rain and the cold, or stay indoors and play on a games console? I know what I would rather do!

But are video games bad for children? A report from the European Parliament concluded that they are not, and that the games are in fact good for children because the games teach children skills that are essential in life. I know from listening to my own children that many of the games they play are probably helping them to develop strategic thinking and creativity, as well as other important life skills.

Of course, many of the games tend to be of a violent nature, where the aim is to destroy an enemy of some sort or another. This is nothing new though – if you think back to the earliest video games way back in the seventies such as Space Invaders, the intention then was to destroy an inviting enemy. The European report also stated that there is no firm proof that playing such games has a negative impact on behavior.

A study carried out by CBS Evening News on 1,102 teens shows that 97 percent of them play video games and that 65 percent of them play online with someone else, and that the most popular games are racing, puzzle and sports games.

Toine Manders, the Dutch Liberal MEP who drafted the report, had this to say: “Video games are in most cases not dangerous. us that video games have a positive contribution to make to the education of minors. ”

So, sometimes it's not all bad news and we should not worry too much about how much time our kids are spending playing electronic games because they are winning some benefit from the activity.

In Diablo 3 you will have the option of choosing between a variety of Active Skills and a variety of Passive Skills that you will be able to mix and match. By the time your character reaches level 30 you will be able to select the maximum amount of total skills for your character. In total you will be able to select 6 Active Skills and 3 Passive Skills at any one time.

You will be able to switch out different skills wherever you find a Nephalem Altar. Nephalem Altars will be found scattered through the world of Diablo 3 as well as in friendly towns. Any you may be asking what the differences are between Active and Passive Skills in Diablo 3. Here is the breakdown of each type of Skill:

Active Skills: Active Skills are the first type of Skills you will be able to use when you start playing Diablo 3, regardless of the class you choose to be. For example, if you start off with the Barbarian the first skill you will be able to use is Bash. Once you reach level 2, you will unlock Hammer of the Ancents and Threatening Shout.

However, even if you have 3 Active Skills unlocked you will not be able to use all three at once until you reach level 6. In Diablo 3 as you level up you will be able to have more skills available to use without having to swap them out. You will have 2 Active Skill slots when you first start the game. Reaching Level 6 will unlock the third slot, Level 12 will unlock the fourth slot, Level 18 will unlock the fifth slot and Level 26 will unlock the sixth and final Active Skill Slot. By the time you reach level 30 all of your character's skills will be available for you to use, although you can only have 6 Selected at any one time.

Active Skills are different from Passive Skills in that you must choose when you want to use an Active Skill in Combat (Usually by right clicking or by using the appropriate Hot Key). Passive Skills do not have to be “clicked on” to be used, they are essentially “Passive”, meaning you do not have to do anything for them to have an effect on your character.

Passive Skills: Passive Skills will not be available to you until you reach Level 10. Once you reach Level 10 you will be able to select 1 Passive Skill for your character. Using the Barbarian as an example again, you will have to choose between Pound of Flesh and Ruthless. Pound of Flesh Increases the chance of finding a health globe by 25% and you gain 100% additional health from health globe while Ruthless increase your critical hit chance by 5% and critical hit damage will increase by 50%. So essentially you would be forced to make the decision wherever you want greater health regeneration by health wars or increased critical hit chance and damage.

Your Passive Skill slots will unlock at Levels 10, 20 and 30. By the time you reach Level 30 you will have 10+ Passive Skills, but you will only be able to use 3 at any given time. This will really force you to make difficult decisions as to which Skills are the best fit for the type of character you decided to make. You will be able to improve upon your weaknesses with better equipment, or by socketing powerful Runestones into your Active Skills.

Once you reach Level 30, the game will have really just begun. You will have unlocked every skill, but now you will be on a quest to find and trade for rare Runestones to socket into your Active Skills. Each Active Skill can be stored with any of the five Runestones. Each Runestone will change your skills in entirely different ways. For Example, the Witch Doctor starts off with the Skill Summon Zombie Dogs which summons 3 Zombie Dogs to fight by the Witch Doctor's side. When Socketing this Skill with a Runestone, here are the possible effects:

Alabaster Runestone: Your zombie dogs gain X% of damage deal as Life, half of which heals you.

Crimson Runestone: Light your dogs on fire allowing them to burn nearby enemies for X Fire damage per second.

Golden Runestone: Upon death, your zombie dogs have a X% chance of leaving behind a health globe.

Indigo Runestone: X% of damage taken is absorbed by your zombie dogs.

Obsidian Runestone: Your summoned zombie dogs gain an infectious bite that deals X Poison damage over X seconds.

Not only that, but there are 7 Ranks of each Runestone that can found in the world of Diablo 3. As you can see the customization in Diablo 3 is absolutely unreal. Blizzard says there will be over 1 Trillion, yes 1 TRILLION different builds that can be made in Diablo 3. This type of customization allows for a tremendous amount of replay value for Diablo 3. I am very much looking forward to the Diablo 3 Release ( Hopefully Early 2012).

Choosing Your First Class In Diablo 3

Even though the hope of getting Diablo 3 before the end of the year has been mercilessly crushed by Blizzard, the game is still on track for an early 2012 release. And if you're the kind of person that like to over analyze stuff, like me, then it's really time to start thinking about what class you're going to be playing.

Difficult choices to be made

After thinking long and hard about it, I think I've finally been able to reach a decision.

Read on for my thoughts on the different classes and hopefully get some inspiration for your own class choice.

Barbarian

Ah Barbarians. The simple life of “Me see enemy. Me smash enemy with big pieces of solid metal”.

There is something wonderfully attractive in this primitive character.

Wading into the heart of combat, swinging your weapon (s) of choice in wide arcs, laughing at the puny attacks of your opponents as they attempt to stop your bloody rampage.

However, I must say that I do prefer a bit more subtlety in my characters.

Planning out my tactics and striking with surgical precision is just more appealing to me than the all out berserker fury that the Barbarian embodies.

But for that experience of being a juggernaut of muscle and steel, well, I might have come back and give the Barbarian a try.

Monk

The Monk symbols much of the sense of being a hand to hand force of whirling death that you find in the Barbarian.

But where the Barbarian is raw power and fury incarnate, the Monk is much more elegant and efficient in his attacks.

He moves with purpose and economy of motion that shows thought and purpose behind every strike.

Now this is a style that is more up my alley.

The melee carnage of the Barbarian, but with the elegance and dignity that I prefer.

But while I think the Monk is a really cool character, there is something about his appearance that makes him feel a little bit bland to me.

I think that the way he is * not * a giant muscle mountain like the Barbarian helps give him a distinct style of his own. But his underplayed style and simple robes do not quite have the flamboyance and flash that I'd like from my Diablo 3 character.

Demon Hunter

Now the Demon Hunter is a real badass, armed with deadly ranged weapons and ready with a huge bag of tricks for any eventuality.

Just being called a “Demon Hunter” is pretty frigging cool in itself, you know?

The Demon Hunter is the rogue class of Diablo 3, though, and I have never really dug the rogue classes.

While I'm all for planning your moves and efficiently dispatching your foes, I have never quite gotten the same sense of satisfaction from backstabbing an enemy or shooting them with an arrow, as I have from placing the head of an ax between their eyes, or blowing them to pieces with a fireball (I'm a sick person, but acceptance is the first step towards being cured, they say).

So while the Demon Hunter is definitely a very cool customer, I'm gonna have to give this class a pass.

Witch Doctor

The Witch Doctor is the class that resembles the Necromancer from Diablo 2 the most. And the Necromancer was my main character, so instantly there's +1 point for the Witch Doctor.

Being able to summon Zombie Dogs or bats that are on fire is also undeniably pretty sweet. Who needs intense planning and surgical precision anyway, when you can unleash flaming flying mammals in great swathes at your foolish opponents?

Hmmm, but I have to say that while I find the “tribal” art style of the Witch Doctor to be both distinct and kinda neat, I do not know if I really want my character to be running around in a loincloth and big feather headdress (deja vu of my last time at the local carnival)

I'm gonna put you in the maybe pile, Witch Doctor. Please do not attack me with a plague of toads for my decision.

Wizard

That leaves us with the Wizard.

And considering that I have so far gone “nah” or “meeeeeh” to the previous four classes, let's hope that we're going to strike gold now.

Fortunately the Wizard has got everything under control.

I've always liked magic users. I just find that the flashy pyrotechnics of toasting your opponents with conjured flames, combined with swirling robes and glowing staves make for a winning combination on the coolness chart.

And the Wizard in Diablo 3 comes kitted out with some suitably impressive spells, including my long missed friend from the first Diablo game, the fire shooting “Hydra” summon. What better way to kill your opponents than creating flaming dragon heads that spit balls of flame?

I laugh in the face of your quaint “arrows”!

So for me the choice is fairly clear. I'm gonna be joining up with the robe wearing, spell slinging, flaming dragon head summoning ranks of the Wizards.

But I'm already looking forward to trying it several of the other classes on my second and third play through of the game.

The question is then gonna be, if my second character should be a Barbarian or a Witch Doctor …

A headphone consists of two devices one is speaker which delivers sound from computer to your headset and the other one is the microphone which takes the audio from the headset to the computer. So this small head-gear is responsible for audio communication for the computer game to the player. Sound of your game is responsible to provide the environment that make you feel to be part of the game. You can understand the importance when you try to play the computer game with sounds off, which will result in losing interest in the game. When we talk about gaming grade headphones, then the audio quality needs to be much better than ordinary headset that is used for everyday computing.

Reliable Communication in Multiplayer Gaming

In a multi-player environment, speedy and timely communication between the members of the team is very important. There are several obstacles in the communication that includes slow communication, noise in background and bad quality of the audio, such problems in the communication will result in poor performance in your game. A gaming level microphone will ensure your voice is transmitted from your headphone the game in fast paced environment.

Close to Real-World Environment

With the superior sound technology such as Dolby digital and surround sound, you will receive the sound as coming from around you from different corners sides to give you a real world audio environment. With the advancement of technology, gaming audio is getting more realistic and require a high quality output audio device to provide a clear sound to the player, so when you buy a headset for your computer game, make sure the audio quality is clear and supports the surround sound and 3D sound effects.

Noise Cancelling Feature With Acoustic Speakers

This is probably one of the most popular features of the gaming headset, but this is optional as it does not come as part of all headphones for gaming. Acoustic speakers are extremely comfortable and makes your listening experience better. Nose cancelling means the design of your headset will ensure that no outside noise will enter your ears. One of the benefit of using headset with acoustic speakers is that you will feel that world is come alive around you and what you hear will just like real world sound.

Gaming headphones are available Personal computers as well as consoles such as Microsoft Xbox360, Sony PlayStation (PS3) and Sony Wii platforms.

5 Reasons Why Diablo 3 Gold Will Be Expensive

If you've ever played Diablo 2, then you know that the Gold in that game was really worthless. I remember the only real uses for Gold in D2 were to repair equipment, trading for gems (100,000 Gold per Perfect Gem) and for gambling. Other than that, Gold just built up in your character's stash as…

If you've ever played Diablo 2, then you know that the Gold in that game was really worthless. I remember the only real uses for Gold in D2 were to repair equipment, trading for gems (100,000 Gold per Perfect Gem) and for gambling.

Other than that, Gold just built up in your character's stash as there was no other real use for it. The value of Gold will be MUCH greater in Diablo 3 and here are the reasons why.

# 1. Vendors: You will be able to buy gear and items from Vendors in D3. While this was possible in D2, you could not really buy any equipment that were upgrades for your character. However, in Diablo 3 Vendor items will actually scale to the level of your character, so if you forget to trade or buy a piece of upgraded gear you can purchase a piece of armor or a weapon from a Vendor. You will spend a good amount of gold, buying items from Vendors in Diablo 3.

# 2. RMAH: If you're not buying from Vendors, you will be buying from other players in The Real Money Auction House. Not only will you be able to buy equipment from the RMAH, but also Crafting Materials, Tomes, Potions, Characters, Runestones, etc. Gold will also be farmed and sold for actual money, constantly reducing the amount of gold available in the game, thus making it more valuable and more difficult to obtain. The RMAH will really be a great feature that will allow the Diablo 3 economy to flourish.

Gold Sinks: The following are a list of Gold Sinks added to Diablo 3. A Gold Sink is an economic process installed in games that removes game currency to increase the value of that currency.

# 3. Repairs: Players will spend a lot of money on repairing equipment in Diablo 3. While it may not be noticeable in Normal or even Nightmare, the average player will have a very difficult time in Hell and Inferno.

The Developers who played D3 said that they regularly wiped as a group in Inferno Difficulty. You will lose a% of your equipment's durability each time you die. Also the higher the level of your equipment the greater the repair costs will be. Continually dying can really rack up the gold repair costs.

# 4. Stash: The Stash in Diablo 3 will be a shared stash for your entire account. This means that you will be able to access all of your items / gear on any character on your account. While your shared stash might not have enough space when you first start out, you will be able to spend gold to upgrade your stash and gain more available space. I expect the cost of upgrading your stash will be increasingly more expensive with each upgrade that you buy (eg 1st Upgrade 1,500 gold, 2nd Upgrade 3,000 Gold, 3rd Upgrade 6,000 Gold).

# 5. Crafting: In my opinion the largest Gold Sink of all will be Crafting. You will be spending Gold on Crafting Materials as well as spending Gold to have the Mystic, Jeweler or Blacksmith complete the Crafting process for you. Not only that, but it will also cost you a large amount of Gold to Level Up each of these Artisans. Leveling up your Mystic, Jeweler or Blacksmith will allow you to craft more powerful items.

You will have to choose which Artisan you would like to focus on initially, because upgrading two or even all three Artisans will cost you a significant amount of gold. The good news however, is once you level up an Artisan it will stay Leveled Up for your entire account. This means that if you Level Up your Blacksmith to Level 3, it will be at Level 3 no matter which character you decide to use, granted your characters are on the same Account.

If you were looking forward to selling D3 Gold for Actual Money, then the good news is that Diablo 3 will actually have some value. On the other hand, if you were looking forward to buying D3 Gold to get a head start on your friends, the good news is that you will be able to buy Gold safely and securely through the Real Money Auction House.

If you were not thinking about buying or selling gold in Diablo 3, you will have to make some decisions as to where you want to spend your Gold. Increased Stash Size, Better Gear, Better Runestones, Leveling Up Artisans the choice is up to you. Oh and just a final tip, try not to get killed a lot; repairs are costly.

In this article, I'll be going through with you the top 5 flight simulator controllers available to complete your experience as a pilot in the virtual world. Whether you are a novice, a hardcore or even a casual flight simulation gamer on the PC, it is highly recommended to have some sort of flight simulator controllers to improve your overall gaming experience on your PC. The most basic of the gears, the joystick, together with other flight sim gaming gears, will grant you a realistic feeling of flying in the cockpit of an aircraft.

1. Joystick / Flight Stick

Precise movements are what you want in a flight simulator game and the flight stick is ideal for this function. Flight sticks are used by fighter pilots for navigating the aircraft and firing missiles and guns. The joystick has been around for ages and has improved dramatically since the first PC joysticks of the 80's. It is the cheapest addition to your setup, but go a long way to add realism and fun.

2. Throttle Controllers

These flight simulator controller include several levers, which you adjust to control parameters in the flight simulation game such as throttle, fuel mixture, and elevator trim. These give you analog control over the values, and stay in a given position after you move it there.

3. Flight Yoke

Flight Yoke is a flight control gear you hold in both hands and is very similar to a steering wheel except that it resembles the control yoke found on many aircraft and has two axes of movement: not only rotational movement about the shaft of the yoke, but also a forward-and-backward axis equivalent to that of pitch control on the yoke of an aircraft. Should you use a yoke or stick ? Well it depends on what you are flying. Jumbo jets (except for the new Airbuses), classic aircraft, and most general aviation twins and single engines are controlled with a yoke. Military jets and some of the new glass cockpit props and many of the new microjets are controlled using a flight stick.

4. Rudder Controllers and Pedals

Pedals let you use your foot to command the rudder and toe brakes of the aircraft in your flight simulator game (just like the gas pedal and brake in a car). Pedals also help with dealing with crosswinds, turning, and control during taxiing.

5. TrackIR

TrackIR is an optical motion tracking controller that tracks head motions, allowing handsfree view control for improved game immersiveness and situational awareness. Head position and orientation are measured by a purpose-built video camera, mounted on top of the user's monitor, which observes invisible infrared (IR) light (hence the name) reflected or emitted by marks on a rigid model worn by the user.

How far will you go in achieving the sense of realism in flying? Well, explore the offerings at a computer store or online store such as Amazon or go to a review site and then decide which gear or combination of controls best suits your budget and preferences.

I hope you have found the above information useful. To see what are some of the best flight simulator controllers and accessories available, go here now: http://www.flightsimulatorcontroller.com/

Rift Leveling Areas – Your Guide To Reaching Level 50

Just like any other game rift too has its own rift leveling areas. These are areas which you can use to help increase your level in the world of Telara. As a gamer you know that this is the most important thing in many games is to reach a high level or if there is a cap (as there is here) to reach that cap as this makes the game a lot easier for you to play through . To do this you are going to need to follow a road map of borrowing areas to reach 50 and become an elite warrior of Telara.

When you first start the game you will go through creating your character, when doing this you are going to be asked to choose one of two races – The Guardians and The Defiant and whoever one of these that you choose will mean you start off in one of two areas; The Guardians over at Mathosia whereas The Defiants will start over at Terminus. To make sure that you get an overall feel of the game you are made to level up in these areas until a certain level before you can actually leave and explore the rest of Telara.

Once you leave these areas you are free to roam around though this is a mistake many people do. There are areas which should only be traveled to when you reach a specific level, if you try to go through these areas without getting to the proper level you'll probably find yourself struggling to get through the game as some monsters will get tougher and so will the quests.

There are 3 benchmarks that you want to follow in the road to pushing for the 50 cap.

1st Marker – Up to 35

When you are trying to reach the 35 marker you want to focus on the areas that are Freemarch / Silverwood, Stonefield / Gloamwood, Scarlet gorge and Scarwood reach (which means race that you choose in the game). Playing in these areas should be easy for you to level up and you can go on to craft your builds to make it easier for you.

2nd Marker – Up To Level 40

Once you have completed the 1st marker you are now given more levels that you can access which are Draftsland and Moonshade. Make sure that you reach the top of this marker because you will end up wasting time and resources trying to get through the game which will be a struggle for you.

3rd Marker – Level 50

With the final stretch you are given the final few level to boost your way up to the cap marker which are Iron pine peaks, Shimmersand and Stillmoor. It is recommended that the first area that you take on be Iron pine or Stillmoor to get you up to 43/45 and after this you can push the final few over at Shimmersand.

These rift leveling areas are created for a specific purpose to stop you from wasting time and resources and instead enjoy the game that you are playing.

Video games provide a powerful virtual environment for the players, which makes them feel to be part of that digital environment. On the other hand, a game player controls the game-play through input devices, such as mouse and keyboard. This data is then processed by the game and then transmitted back to the player through output devices, which includes the sound through speakers and the graphics through computer screen or monitor. Computer audio can be delivered through speakers or headphones, let us explore these computer components and understand their effectiveness in the video games.

Headsets For Gaming
A computer headset is also known as headphones which is a small piece of computer hardware. Headsets are directly wearable on the head of the user in such a way that the two speaker cups rest parallel to the ears. In this manner, the computer audio is delivered directly to the ears of the user, without affecting other people in the surroundings. Secondly headphones can have a built-in microphone, which is a small input device responsible for delivering the user's audio into the computer. In short gaming headphones are best for use by a single person, where the user does not want to disturb the other people in the room. For example, you can play your favorite video game with full volume while your friends are sleeping in the same room.

Speakers For Gaming
Computer speaker systems are used to deliver high quality sound in such a way that the sound will rock the room with high frequency rumble and beats, a similar audio environment that you notice in a cinema theater. In such a situation you will feel the sound coming alive with audio coming from different corners of the room. A professional gamer speaker system typically consists of two satellites with acoustic speakers, a high bass generating subwoofer and possibly a separate wired remote with audio controls. If there is no separate remote, then the audio controllers will be provided on one of the speaker satellites, however epic gamers prefer separate remote for controlling the game audio. Speaker systems are best when sound is needed on a larger scale, for example: sound delivered in the full room.

Coverage Area And Audience
The main difference between the gamer headphone and the speaker system is the coverage area and the number of users listening the sound. Secondly the difference is the number of users that can listen to the sound, as discussed in the above sections, the headset for gaming is only for one person, while the speakers deliver the sound on a larger scale and more than one person can listen high volume sound easily.
